Fuel Prices In China

Featured Replies

I've just had a somewhat overwhelming two weeks stay in China. So big, so many people. Stayed mainly in Guangzhou (formerly Canton) which has an urban population of 25 million plus.

Petrol prices on the forecourt seemed to be around 80 something per litre which i'm guessing is 80p per litre (assuming exchange rate of parity with the Yuan).

Please Mr Osbourne?

80 Yuan is around £8 so that can't be right?

It was probably 80 of the next division down (can't remember what it is) which would be 8 Yuan.

Anyway if you want to feel sick, some countries are as low as 0.03 USD/l (yes three cents).

What is the average wage/salary like?

Iran taxi drivers pay a surcharge of around £120 per year and get unlimited fuel.

it's almost completely petrol out there though, diesel cars are rare out there.

otherwise i think regular fuel is less than 50p per gallon(4.5ltr gallon)
