Vag-Com codes advice

Featured Replies

I have a CEL at the moment so done a scan this morning and this is what I got.

4 Faults Found:

16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62)

P0118 - 35-00 - Signal too High

16727 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)

P0343 - 35-10 - Signal too High - Intermittent

17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)

P1297 - 35-10 - - Intermittent

18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30

P1602 - 35-10 - Voltage too Low - Intermittent

Right

I assume the 16502 is the thermostat (Hope so as have a new one for it already)

How hard is it to replace the camshaft position sensor?

I know about the 17705 as I have has that for a while.

18010 id guess is the battery being disconnected.

Thanks

Yep 18010 is just where you've disconnected the battery, once you clear it it shouldn't come back.

17705 can be all sorts of things you could spend a year or more trying to track that one down, I'd start with the cheapest options first (clean TB and check all the pipework) before you start replacing valves and pipes

16502 is a fault with the sensor rather than the thermostat (or the wiring to the sensor) but it won't hurt to replace the stat as well as the sensor, the stats do fail over time. Try and replace the sensor with a genuine VAG part (the green one)

I've seen the 16727 one once or twice before on here but I think they were related to other faults and went away when the other faults were fixed. I'd see if that happens first and if that doesn't get rid of it then check the wiring to the sensor and consider replacing it:
