bet no one has ever had this!

Featured Replies

now i know i need 2 front abs sensors, awaiting a new hub, need new instrument cluster, i have steering warning issues. and cant get over 20.3mpg even on motorway.

just went a message using my fubert fabia.

4.3mpg average!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont know whats going on, im starting to wonder if my ECU is goosed or if its because my instrument cluster isnt working correctly. i could drive an EVO and get more mpg than this!!!!

my trip read 25 miles to empty when i left and suddenly dropped to zero, then bounced up and down and all around..also my milage trip isnt clocking miles anymore :( new clocks are sitting in skoda i just need to get them fitted which should be either friday or early next week. this cant and wont go on!!!!

Wow, I was getting noticably more screaming round Brands Hatch.

What have you been up to? :D

hmm not alot tbh, its just now becoming 1 thing after another, how is it possible for this car to read 4.2mpg average. could it be because both abs sensors are gooded it just cant read what the average is corrctly?

I could be wrong but if your trip isn't clocking miles properly, how can the car know how far you've gone on any given amount of fuel and thus calculate and MPG? emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

this trip only stopped as of today, that i noticed. could have been yesterday i guess. it is going through fuel too quickly though, the other week i got like 45 miles to over a half tank, :( im upsettings. will see how it reacts to new clocks, new abs sensors and a new hub, once i get it running right my plans for the car will proceed, but i need to get it going right first

Is it actually using more fuel?

Fix the existing problems and see where you are!

 They are all issues that could cause issues that you are having so theres no point guessing until you fix the bits you know are fubard.

Have you tried working out your actual mpg using the old fashioned method to see whether it is actually that bad?

Although it's nice to have working, it's only a fuel computer which is just a bit of a gadget and they are never 100% accurate anyway. I always keep mine on the clock as I don't want to get depressed watching the pennies getting consumed mile after mile, that way I can stay in denial until I next have to visit the pump... :D

Not leaking any fuel? checked your fuel tank? Could be faulty fuel level sender unit?

nah fuel is burning more quickly or so says the trip, i will fix what i know needs fixed and update shortly

Ignore the trip. Fill up note milage drive normal til next fill up note milage and fuel amount. And do a but of maths see what you do get. I'd go to one click off of pump when filling up on both occasions. It's it's still rediculously low then there something up with engine

it wont be broken long enough to run a tank of fuel, i can assure you of that lol, i cant live with broken, hub arrived today will be getting abs sensor for other side tomorrow or sat. and the new instrument cluster will be fitted next week

If you really were using that much fuel a look in the mirror would show a real peasouper

What is wrong with the cluster?

Abs sensors will effect mpg readout etc

the cluster has never worked really as it has no buzzers and a light that flickers so i thought screw it let try this

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/218083-dash-colour-change-idea/page__pid__2596198__st__40#entry2596198

then upon doing so when removing one of the leds a bridging terminal broke, this has caused a chain reaction and now i have no moving speedo, dash lights on tht shouldnt be, dash lights off that should be, a trip that goes awol. crise control no longer works, and im no longer clocking milage.

so new cluster has been ordered and i wont be attempting to change the leds again.
