3 turbos gone bang

Featured Replies

Maybe bits of previously blown turbo are still being pulled through and killing the turbo??

How have they failed?

Were they brand new units you replaced with?

If the underlying cause of the first failure was never fixed, then you'll never get one to last.

Standard turbo? Any modifications/mapping done to the car?

We need more infor!

What air filter are you running?

Was the IC hosing completely cleaned when the others had gone?

What sort of whistling?

Every turbo will whistle, so long as it's not whining a lot or sounding like a police siren.

Has the Oil feed pipe been changed? I seriously doubt there is anything else that can cause 3 turbo`s to go and all sound like oil starvation.

The compressor wheel has been left in the exhaust by the bloke fitted the turbo that wouldn't have coursed the turbo to blow would it

Seriously? Someone fitted a new turbo and left the mullered bits in the exhaust?

What else didn't they clean out?

Shocking :o

Sounds like you need to take it somewhere else then.

?? Not oil pump, the feed pipe to the turbo

Take it see Steve Dav, unless you are using some sort of mates rate garage?

i would be checking a NEW oil feed return has been fitted also check your boost pipes and intercooler have thoroughly been cleaned out along with your exhaust,

i would also get the map looked at aswell

Who did the map ?

Have you had all the paper work and checked the work carried out? Sounds like a bit of a dog of a mechanic if they have been leaving compressor wheels in exhausts.
