Dump Valve

Featured Replies

OK so fitting an after market DV seems to be a complete mine field if you do not know what you are doing. I have only just bought my Octavia vRS and found a boxed DV in the boot. The guy I got the car from said it was bought from ebay but he did not have the time to fit it. Is this worthing fitting - any advice would be greatly appriciated.

cheers guys

Don't do it - that looks like an atmospheric BOV which the Octavia does not like. It's designed to use a recirculating diverter valve and a BOV will cause issues.

Dont fit that rubbish mate, get it back on ebay and buy either a forge 007p, 008 or a bailey dv30.

Compbrake for me here - recommended

+1 Had it over a year with no issues, comes with 2 springs like forge ones but loads cheaper. One of the members on here found metal swarf in his ebay special valve so be careful.

thanks guys, i think it could be time to spend some money. Just glad I didnt pay for that other one.

Is the car actually remapped? Because if it isn't you don't need a new DV.

Don't need one even if it is mapped TBH.

Just make sure the OEM one is not damaged, and it'll be fine!

I am back on the std Bosch 710n valve and mine is Custom mapped with lots of other toys on, I think its smoother with the std valve. Gonna go back to the Forge this week to be sure.

That Compbrake is also one I left off. Forgot about it lol. and I have one of them too.
