Suspension Mods - 4x4 1.8t h/b

Featured Replies

Hi,

My octy sits up quite high on the back end and wondered if a simple spring kit would lower it with out affecting the ride quality in terms of firmness.

Also, I have found fk coilover kit for about 200 pounds and a complete used r32 kit for 150.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Best wishes

John

Not sure but rear axle weights with the R32 kit as octys got alot more over back end than golf,

If your shocker are in good condition then you will just get away with a decent set of springs,

if you want to keep your comfort then avoid coilovers especially the cheaper kits, i have a set of jom plus coilovers on my vrs and my god they are alot harder than standard

I've personally witnessed that R32 works fine on an estate Octy 4x4

Cheap coilovers are generally harsh.

Expensive coilovers, such as KW v3, give a superior ride quality (comfort and control) on any tarmaced surface. Even on the most pot-hole, rut filled mud covered country lane you can imagine.

ps

upgrade the ARBs' too
