25000 miles

Featured Replies

Glanced down at the clock while driving yesterday just in time to see it turn over to 25k miles. Problems so far? Well I had to replace a tail light bulb a couple of months back, and ... well that's it actually :)

Hope that was a warranty claim :giggle:

You are so lucky Bobdog. I had to replace the front wiper blades recently too.

And I have had to keep putting diesel in it ;=)

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just booked mine in for her first service in the new year; now at 9000 miles :o:giggle:

So far one roof moulding strip replaced as it had come unstuck (dealer fit option), offside headlight adjusted (to low for my liking) and the radio volume PDC adjustment (see thread) oh and a couple of minor rattles (rubbish roads).

Longest journey driven (with stops obviously) about 980 miles in 18 hours, on her first holiday; appropriately to CZ before going on to Austria B)

Drove the whole leg myself; much more comfy and more pleasant to drive than the previous Golf V PD140 4motion which I did similar trips in. Standard roof rails were also a bonus allowing easy fit of cross bars and softbox. With the Golf we travelled very light but still found ourselves surrounded by bags in the cabin.

10,000 yesterday, nothing wrong at all-and the most comfortable mile muncher since my Lexus 400. Rather more economical too!

Just replaced the front tyres for the first time at 24.5K, last week and they were still legal (just). Not bad for a 170 in my view.

Mines just coming up to 26K, and the nearside front tyre is still original and a fair amount of tread left still. Offside was replaced after a puncture at about £15k.

I have had the wipers replaced at the first service. However the drivers side still taps the screen surround at the top sometimes and misses a patch on the down wipe, a little annoying.

I bet you are glad the company is paying your bills. That is the most expensive puncture I have heard about this side of F1

Love the first bit; and the replies.

The second bit is a ten second fix with the right spanner. Rather like getting your 10 year old to operate the Skybox, find a young rally mad lad (perhaps not a 10 year old this time) and get him to alter it.

I drove my (relatively) new Yeti 400 miles yesterday in appalling wintry squalls. I found myself cursing the things that didn't happen automatically. Like the rear wiper not wiping often enough without me having to arch my right hand on the steering wheel to set it "on". However I really am a lazy old git.

Its the wiper design which is at fault.

It taps the windscreen surround at the top and yet is positioned correctly when parked The blade will not conform to the curve of the windscreen on the downstroke, and misses a patch. The original wiper did the same which is why I asked for them to be replaced at the service.

Personally I can't see how a spanner can help cure this? I have plenty of spanners and have no hesitation in using them, even on a company car where I am supposed to go to a garage for any faults!

OK. Sorry; my original reply was probably out of place (like your wipers). I will examine my wipers and let you know if I can find an adjustment for... er, is "length" the right word here?

Clearly I was tempting fate with my original post ... disaster today :'( . I realised that my wiper blades had also seen better days. No worries, I was driving past a friendly Skoda dealer whose service reception lady kindly changed them (free of labour charge) while I waited :D .

15500 on mine now since August when it was new, no major issues to report, first service is at 19,000 according to maxi dot. Only thing I will say is it has developed quite a few rattles around the dash area, and very metallic rattle inside the centre console near the foot rest, if I tap the plastic it rings!

Other than that it is great, averaging 42mpg, oh and I only have 3mm left on all four tyres :o
