Where can I get new wheelnuts?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've got a nice set of 16" Atrias arriving this week, but the old wheelnuts from the steel wheel will not do.

Does anyone know where I can get some nice silver matching wheelnuts (preferably locking?) I had a look on ebay and a whole host of them for like a tenner came up, but I want something as official as I can if this is possible (I don't want any cheap tut that's likely to break on the car!)

Cheers

I guess from your dealer? I wouldn't trust buying such an item from an ebay seller except if they are selling the original ones.

I've found that in most cases the shape of the nut is not a perfect match so I wouldn't risk it using them.

Another vote for the dealer - you'll get the right ones :)

Thanks guys, I didn't even think of that, because my local dealer isn't much good.

All they had in their showroom was a BMW motorbike, a 3 series convertible, and an omega police car!

It must be one of those funny ones who put up a sign saying they are the Skoda main dealer and service center, but aren't really.

I shall find out my next nearest official one and try there

Thanks

Why not just use the original ones and get a set of caps to tidy them up?

I haven't thought of that, but I would like them to be original I think.

I plan to put winters on my current steels, because my alloys are coming with Bridgestone performance tyres on

Plus I wouldn't want to ruin the alloys in the snow and grit

Most of the factory alloys have dress up caps for the wheel bolts, loads of sets on eBay, far far cheaper than new wheel bolts.

The trouble is my current set of wheel nuts aren't locking ones. I would like locking ones ideally, but if wheels don't get nicked that often...?

Get some locking ones then, if you get a set from Skoda along with the caps they all fit on and look OE.

mind saying where u got your wheels from and did u get a good price for em?

the oem bolts are rthe same as alloy oem bolts apparently when i went to my dealers.

however the oem bolts and locking bolts are black in colour.

A little while ago there was a post about official parts from a dealer by mail order. Maybe worth a search then seeing if they offer wheel bolts sets including locking ones and the key?

They are 16" Atria, and they are lightly used but in good condition. Came with a brand new set of Bridgstone Turanza tyres (RRP £100 each) Got the lot for 400 quid.

Bridgstone Turanza ? Horrible tires.

What's wrong with them

They came with my Fabia on the same 16" Atrias. The tire is very hard making it uncomfortable on daily use and a bit on the noisy side. Takes also ages to get hot meaning that most of the time I was sliding left and right. On the other hand for track days its perfect as it will not be eaten away easily. Bottom line I would never buy it and unbelievably it is quite expensive too.

Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with them now. I pressume these tyres came on all Atria wheels on cars from the factory then?

The wheels themselves are very nice. The design I like very much
