Park Assist videos

Featured Replies

These are two ads from VW in Brazil showing the Park Assist:

The first one they did is here:

The second one showing how to auto park in long bays:

Is there any Å kodas yet that can park like that? Mine can only do the former. Should a software upgrade be able to add this feature?

As far as I know none of the Skoda vehicles have this yet, first time I've seen the park assist working like that (in the second video).

Perhaps it will become available for MY13 on Skodas, or perhaps you must have it with the rear view camera which is why we haven't got it.

Well it is still fully automatic so it does not need the camera (which humans do! :giggle: )... But it might be a bundle as you say.

I wonder why they used a SEAT for the second video, but removed the badges...you'd think they'd just use a lower spec VW, or a non-VAG group car?

Well think of it this way: if they had debadged a Renault for example and used that you'd have thought: "Why promote Renault in a VW ad?!" The average punter might not always know what a debadged car is but you and I might. So on the whole it is better to use another VAG brand surely? All the money made (on selling a VW or a SEAT) goes to the same coffers at the end of the day. :giggle:

I suppose, but what I took away from that was "VW = great, SEAT = rubbish". So I'd have thought they'd have wanted to "put down" a non-VAG so as not to dent customer opinion when the technology inevitably makes its way down the chain to SEAT. In which case using a de-badged non-VAG means that non-enthusiasts will be no better off as they won't know what the car is anyway, but people who recognise cars would think that yes, the non-VW is rubbish in comparison.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking it though, I do have an annoying tendency for that :)

Sorry Rohann, but having park assist in the 2nd vid is rather pointless, I can do that manually, and just as quickly as the car did in the 2nd vid.

Nice idea though

I wonder why the park assist thinks it has to reverse when its starting position is between 2 cars and in theory already in a parking spot?
