Is this the cheapest VRS insurance?

Featured Replies

I have been dreading getting my insurance renewal for the Fabia as when we bought it was a case of swap the insurance from our V5 golf, so there was not much to pay.

Anyway I go the renewal today, fully comp for me and the Wife (40 years old) full no claims etc a reasonable £372 :o of which I am quite happy with.

Is this comparable to others on here with a vrs ? I ask because I have a mate who bought same car a few months ago and he pays £680.

I pay similar and i'm 27 with full ncb etc but depends on excess and postcode. Seems reasonable

Sounds reasonable to me. I have moved house and changed car so not really sure what my premium is just now, but would reckon it is around 350-400ish. I am 38 have over 10 years NCB and am an IAM member.

Very difficult to compare insurance as so much depends on the post code, driver age, occupation, etc..

Still, as it is a renewal quote I would still do a ring around and online check to see if there is anything better.

Agreed, there are many variables affecting your premium.

I have 16yrs NCB, IAM certificate etc etc so in some ways they helped as my premium was only £18 pamore than for my MK1 vRS.

That is a very impressive price, im 20 with 2 ncb and i pay £640, i found that the new corsa vxr nurburgring is te exact same price for me too, all i can think is that the non sensible people cant afford them haha

I was expecting to pay around £500. Skoda insurance wanted £617 then gave me £50 off and i would have gone with that had it not been for Aviva.

They quoted me £319, and i used a cashback website and will be getting £50 back. Net result £269 for this year, just £20 more than for my old 1.3 Mitsubishi Colt, which is 20 insurance groups less than the VRS......very happy with that!

220 here with full ncb, 2 accidents (1 non fault) and 3 points covering 10 k per year, parked on a drive and im 41. its a rip off that people with similar or better stats than me pay 2x+

at the end of the day they all cost the same to repair and if it gets nicked, well so long as you lock it its not ur fault, another case of rip off Britain im afraid

41 I use it for driving instruction, anyone is insured to drive comprehensively, and I'm insured to drive anyone eleses car, and any dsa adi can teach in mine, i'm also insured for loss of limbs ect incase of accident, I also have profesional indemnity to the tune of £2 million... all bells and whistles...

£340

edit: technically, because I have an IHCD blue light response driving qualification , I could technically sticker and light it up, and take excemtions for the purpose of training! eep! I wont though.... its staying in "stealth" mode :)

edit: also I just moved to a worst postcode... If I had stayed it would have been £300...

£335 for me, at 42 :(

I really dont know why I bother reading insurance quote posts... they only make me angry! haha

Anything less than 1k would be brilliant for me! I have found it is purely down to home post code...

I have done searches after my last post about insurances using friends post codes (Just for comaprison, Im still insured legaly, with my own post code) And I got a diffrence of over £800 between Liverpool, Aberdeen and The Midlands...

Just for comparison in this thread, I have 15ish years Protected NCB Clean License and pay about £1200 and Im 34.

£457 , 4yr NCB, 25yr male, £150 excess,full comp, 8k mi/annum, parked on drive.

325 here, 28 year old fully comp me n missus

£210 here with NCP, legal cover, car hire and total excess of £150 for 11,000 miles.

Old fart driver with 0 points, full NCB and no accidents.

For some reason this was £10 cheaper than my 8year old seat ibiza 1.2 with no supercharger, no turbo, 1 cylinder less and a grand total of 72bhp. Work that one out if you can

ESP insurance companies like it

Insurance prices are not dictated by the car's power.

But to be fair often very influenced by it.

Really? Then how come the average quote price I was getting was £800 (I've only got 2 years NCB) except with Admiral who were just over £300 because, as they said, they don't take into account the car's power.... which sort of implied that everyone else does.
