VCDS (VAGCOM) Key-Com cable

Featured Replies

Ok not any good for me any more so for sale is my old vagcom cable.

this is the old serial connection one ran fine on my 2003 bora and on mates 2001 Vrs octi

Genuine Ross tech cable bought from one of the boys over on UK Mk4s length is about 1.8 mtrs, and runs without needing a license code - code is built into the dongle itself

label shows the following

KEY-COM

Dual-K VAG-COM

Dongle interface

RKC102291 Rev B

www.ross-tech.com

Label on the side shows serial number -heavily worn but can make out most of it - and Rev 2.10

Cable was last used a few months ago through my old carputer to check for error codes on a 52 plate passat tdi, without a problem running 903 version of the software i think

open to sensible offers looking for around £45 posted

So would this work with current VCDS?

worked with the current version when i installed it on the carputer which was 906 iirc everytime i used it i got a message saying a new version was avalible to download but didnt have internet in the car to get it

but will only work up to around 2004-05 cars. full speed canbus is a no go for these

Cable "should" work with latest VCDS but not on the newer cars. I am not sure if you can use this cable with an older acceptable licensed version of vag-com (as opposed to VCDS). The older versions like 409.1 works on all cars up to 2004 ish (and would work with this cable)

The KEY-* range is a "high-tech" interface, so will work fine and license all versions of VCDS right up to the latest, as it contains the licensing information inside the dongle.

PM sent, first dibs! :thumbup::giggle:
