Hi All...

My first post here... I just purchased a 55 Octavia Elegance and I didn't try the electric windows when I test drove it (it was cold and raining) and when I tried the drivers side window yesterday I got a horrible squealing noise when I close it...

I was going to remove the door card (I found a few threads here do I'll do some more research before I attempt that)

But I wondered if anyone else has had this problem and if it is an easy fix with a bit of WD40 or some other lubricant.

Any thoughts, ideas, guidance would be much appreciated.

Yes, WD40 would be the first thing I'd try.

I'll post picks and a report when I get to this.. maybe this weekend.

If that doesn't work then maybe some silicone spray on the sealing strips around the door frame.

Coincidentally , my 11 month old Elegance has started doing this. Due for a service soon so will get delaer to look at it if it persists.

ive a 07 ambiente with exactly the same problem and its driving me nuts. tried silicone grease, washing up liquid and finally wd40 in copious amounts and no joy. The seals look fine so and ideas id love to hear them . thanks
