Bam inlet manifold conversion

Featured Replies

As per title really, taken car off road for a couple of months over winter to get some bits done,

Removed front bumper as its one of bits thats getting sorted, while its off road am considering a front mount while its off road and throttle body on other side would make life alot easier,

I already have a bam inlet manifold and it looks quiet easy to do as am quiet handy with a spanner, just wondered if am missing anything as i've read about differant inlet port sizes but from what i read bam and auq share same head

AUQ and BAM are both small port.

What do you wish to gain from swapping inlet manifolds over?

The wiring loom will need to be modified as temp sensor and TB will be on the other side.

I personally would keep it OEM and fit the Forge or ProAlloy FMIC. You'll get no performance gain by fitting the BAM manifold.

Am not hoping for any gain out of that, am going to do my own front mount conversion, am not paying forge prices for a intercooler when i can do it for half the price

As Steve said you'll need to extend the wiring for the throttle body etc.

Does the BAM manifold have the bolts in the same places as the AUQ manifold that hold the dipstick plate and the pipework underneath it in place? otherwise you'll have to figure out how to keep that fixed on too.

I don't have the plate on mine as i don't have the secondary air pump, n249 and 112 valves,

I've looked at wiring and it looks like i'll just be able to strip it open and fold it back to other side without having to cut and chop anything, its just brake vac pipe and suction spray stuff i'll have to mod abit but thats not to bad either looking at it
