Phew - at last

Featured Replies

We heard today, via a casual visit to the Skoda dealer in Cardiff, that our car was on the production line, not week 43 as first advised.

Vague dates of the first week of the new year has sort of stirred our distant memory of what we ordered back in July - it was 4x4, underbody protection, tow bar prep, heated front screen, cappucciono beige, diesel SE etc.

We got bored waiting so got a white furry SM to sit in the hall, tailgate stickers all the way from Cyprus, anti-scratch protection strip for the rear bumper and more.

Please tell me it was a good idea waiting all this time, we can't remember why now

I while away the weeks, days, hours, seconds by reading the owners manual every night, all 255 pages.

Is it really 255 pages in a booklet?

Popped into the dealer on the off chance, and the car was on the line this week. I guess that means we'll get it early Jan 2012 - next year :wonder:

SHMBO has a birthday mid Jan, but I'm not holding my breath.

PS: what I really wanted to ask, but forgot :giggle: , is the factory shut over Christmas for an extended period?

I'm hoping Betty will have escaped outside and be on the way, but would prefer she was tucked up in a warm factory rather a cold, wet dockside waiting for the odd boat to pass by.

Just checked on Autoroute and Betty is 959 miles away by road.

I can see a railway line through the factory, so are cars rail transported to a port for onward transit to the UK, or are they road transported?

Just curious

Yes looks like we both got same dealer checked today mine is built and waiting at port so should get in 2-3 weeks so they say with xmas mine is pasific blue if you see it down there when you pick yours up

If it's White Dove on Hadfield Road when I had mine from there the sales side were really poor at keeping me updated but that was 18 months ago so the sales staff have probably changed. The Service department are however brilliant. I had a few problems with my HT leads and Plugs and they were very helpful, my colleague has an old Seat and she took her car in with a fault never having been there before and they checked out the car after keeping it overnight and because they couldn't find a fault didn't charge her. The wait for the Yeti is well worth it and I think we all went through the same things while waiting, at least I did, 12 weeks or so of reading brochures, road tests etc. punishment.

White Dove don't get a very good write-up in the Dealer Review section.

SHMBO had a model SM in the correct colour today, a Skoda item from a model shop - it was easier :whew:

We can't get the order number from our dealer, but it must be on the dock side or on a boat somewhere from what we can gather. Just hope it arrives before her birthday mid January

Can't believe it after all this time.

I wonder if the dealer would set it up as Australia to get mph on the screenthingy? I'll have to pop in and ask a stupid question :giggle:

Dealer software does not include many of the better options-VCDS is a more flexible and extensive bit of kit.
