Newbie: How to open taigate?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently revceived my Skoda Superb II (model year 2011) and I'm in love with the car :)

One thing which I can't understand is how to open the tailgate when I am in the car - I can't find any button or level which open the tailgate. The only way I found that works is to turn off the engine, take out the key and use the remote control key...

Unless you chose the electric boot as an extra, you can only unlock the boot using the buttons on the front doors, then open the boot from the outside

Press the unlock button near the handbrake ;)

Press the unlock button near the handbrake ;)

you only get that if you pay extra for an electric bootlid

if you have a twindoor then there are only 2 ways to open the boot, first is to use the controls on the boot itself, and second is via removing the key and pressing the fob. This is the same on all models across the skoda range (Fabia, Roomster, Octavia, Yeti, Superb) except for the Superb Combi (estate) fitted with the optional electric tailgate.

Hi Folks!

Thanks for everyone help!

I have a twin door and didn't opt for the electric door (didn't know it exist..)

Today I found out that pressing the central lock "unlock" button in the driver door allow the boot lid to be open from outside. This is what I wanted - to allow my kids to get their stuff out without turning off the engine or for the security guards to examine boot content without using the remote..

Great to have such a supporting community.

Funny, on my Octavia break if the boot needs to be opened I just press the open button near handbreak and the boot will be able to be opened.

This when the car is running and the wife gets outs and needs to go to the boot. If I don´t press the button she willl not be able to open the boot.

And I don´t have autolock selected.
