Just received this from autoebid, don't know how valid it is so make of it what you will.

Hi

Further to you registering on our website www.autoebid.com and showing an interest in purchasing a new Skoda.

We have just been notified Skoda UK are looking to incorporate a price increase of approximately 2% in January 2012.

Place you order before the 21st December to avoid a Manufacturers Price Increase…

The £ strengthened by 2% against the Euro today.

Maybe they're hedging their bets...

This is about the time of year when all marques increase their prices including Skoda, so I expect to see all prices increasing in the new year.

Prices went up by about 2% last year, plus the 2.5% extra VAT. So it was actually worse unless you bought under the VAT free scheme.

A small annual increase is to be expected IMO. Costs are certainly not coming down.
