Fabia - flywheel vibrations

Featured Replies

Would I still get the dual mass flywheel vibrations at <2000rpm with the uprated clutch. It's not really that much of an issue for me as I drive around it, but I imagine that it can't be good for the engine when the vibrations do start and I feel the car would be more drivable still if it were to be absent. Just out of interest, why do we get vibrations under load at low revs with remapped cars? I can't quite work it out...

Thanks,[/quote']

This is what i was wondering. I think the vibrating dm flywheel is caused by the clutch starting to slip. I dont get noticable actual clutch slip (where revs rise but no increas in speed) just the vibrating dm flywheel at less than 2000 rpm.

i too am driving around it but would lik to be able to just boot it now and again without having to check the reves first.

So hope a clutch upgrade would get rid of vibating flywheel and allow torquier map. :)

maybe your flywheel is on the way out? have you asked your dealer?

Hope not as i dont abuse the clutch... :( i.e by not pressing foot to floor unless over 2k rpm in the higher gears.

Maybe it just doesnt like 330lbsft. ;)

:D

i got rid of mine and prefer it now, got a single mass one

On my previous furby, I did have some vibrations aroud the 2000rpm mark post Jabba. My new one doesn't even though it's been slightly fettled with

No don't not on a Diesel engine. The dual mass flywheel is used to take off smoothly, not such an issue on the petrols for some reason.

Yes, this is not an option unless i want it to sound like a bag of nails and have driveability issues.

Uprated clutch should sort it although its not a real problem as you can drive around it.

Xavier - slightly fettled with eh? ;) :catoutofbagsmilie:
