LED Front Lights

Featured Replies

Hi, Can someone plz recommend some bright front low beam and main beam LED bulbs for my Skoda Fabia 2001 1.4MPI Y reg.

I've noticed driving home from work in the night, the bulbs are not that bright and give a yellow tint. I bought a couple of new bulbs and the brightness hasn't increased.

Thanks

Led bulbs will give even less light output. get some 100w philips extreme headlight bulbs and leave it at that.

I got them on the way in the post.

Hope they're worth it.

Led H7 bulbs are 150 lumens. To bright to look at but can't imagine the light output reaching far into the road.

LED's are too white for main lights, you need some yellow in the light for contrast otherwise you cannot see the road features no matter how bright they are. It's just the way the human eye works.

Osram nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme vision have approx 1700 lumen output. 150 lumens will do little to illuminate more than 2ft in front of the car. I standard 55w bulb is rated at about 1000 lumens.

emoticon-0148-yes.gifThis is quite correct, white LEDs have a very narrow colour spectrum, put them behind a coloured filter such as a brake light and they'll be very dim indeed. Red LEDs for brakes and amber for indicators are fine though.
