Hello yeti men.

Just popping in to say hello and announce that I've ordered a YETI to replace our Tiguan, spec as follows:

1. 12 speaker soundsystem - RA1

2. Elec heated, adjustable & foldable, auto-dimming door mirrors with memory function and boarding- spots - PW8

3. Electrically adjustable drivers seat with lumbar support and memory function - PWB

4. Heated windscreen - PH5

5. Panoramic sunroof (electrically sliding and tilting) - PK3

6. Park distance control (front and rear sensors) - 7X2

7. Preparation for towbar - PKZ

8. Temporary space-saver spare wheel with car jack and false boot floor - PJA

Great - another member who can give us a direct comparison from Tiguan to Yeti. Could you write a final piece about your Tiguan prior to departure, then do a comparison after the Yeti arrives (before the rose-tinted spec go on !) ?

I though option 2 was standard on the Elegance ?

Like your choices , but haven't found myself missing front PDC (rears are standard) and I prefer the rubber mats, given the detritus my lot normal bring into the car. I sometime regret not going for the pana sunroof.

Do enjoy when it arrives.

Hi all sounds good to me, the only thing is I found is the textile floor mats are pretty close to useless, much better to get a set of Yeti rubber ones in my opinion.

Like you spec, the folding mirrors are standard on the Elegance much to my annoyance as I didn't want them. The Pan roof looks excellent but I was concerned with the previous issues with it, I also never bothered with the front parking sensors. I went with the spare wheel option but you do lose depth to the boot area. Rubber mats for me and they are very good.

Hope your wait isn't too long.

I actually noticed that there are some very good deals on the Tiguan just now probably due to the new model arriving.

Great spec!!! Almost the same as mine to a T! I just don't have the now standard folding mirrors and did not want the heated windscreen as I don't commute in my car so rarely have early morning issues with an icy windscreen.

I'd also say go rubber mats. When you go to the car wash you just chuck them out and they jet wash them clean. Easy peasy!

Wow! Thats saying a lot indeed! I think it speaks volumes about the Little Yeti's appeal, functionality and value if it is being bought as a replacement for a Tiguan.

If and when the Tiguan gets launched in India, it will be positioned one level up from the current top spec Yeti.

Am eagerly awaiting the comparison notes between the Tiguan and Yeti!

Cheers!

Great spec car. I love the diesel DSG. I don't have the pana roof as they wouldn't let me order it at the time.

The textile mats from the factory aren't as good as the dealer supplied ones. I have now for rubber ones in mine for winter.

So, the mighty midget (Yeti) wins yet again over the Tiguan.

Hi and welcome to the Monster club,

very nice spec; well and truly raided the option list B)

Would agree with others your better going for the rubber mats as the factory textile mats could be better quality. However if it's defiantly carpet mats your after, I would still go dealer supplied as their mats have the 'Yeti' logo sewn in to them (factory are just plain onyx).

Oh for those querying the wing mirror option please note, the wing mirrors with the elec seat have the memory/parking function above the standard features of the Elegance. Strangely this is listed as a separate free option but only available with the elec seat.

TP

Ah yes that is true TP. With my electric seat I did get the auto dipping passenger mirror. A very, very handy feature meaning you always see the kerb when reversing.

If you have the switch in the right place

Indeed! Mine is always in L!

I find reversing off my drive is not brilliant with the switch in L. I would rather see that I was reversing into emoticon-0140-rofl.gif.

And, Croydon is a little colder than where you are in the East End emoticon-0136-giggle.gif, so I use the heater as well.....(and occasionally the heated windscreen.)

PS If I reverse onto my drive I can't open the boot. emoticon-0149-no.gif

And the mirrors are auto dimming unlike the standard spec on the my 2012 elegance (they ditched the auto dimming in favour of folding)

Having spent 2 weeks with a Tiggywinkle in the summer, I was VERY pleased to get my Yeti back!

Thanks for this info, wasn't aware the MY12 standard folding mirrors didn't dim. Pleased mines a MY11 then, as I like the dimming feature (drivers side only); folding I can live without.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new monster then if I want dimming, folding mirrors.....emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Maybe in 2 years time.

Elsie is now over a year and 15,000 miles old.

7. Preparation for towbar - PKZ

Ready for a very l o n g wait now.

Hello there and welcome!

If I were you - I'd take the towbar not only the preparation. In here this was a cheaper option than adding the towbar later. And double sun visors (is that a proper term?) - good stuff.

And now, for something completely different :giggle: I've just read that they have a major breakdown of computer system at Skoda plant. Preventing them from sending the already produced cars to the dealers. So even longer wait it seems ...

Thanks for the welcome, the front sensors are for the Mrs as the last few cars she's had came with them, the TIG has the self parking thingy but we've never used it other than to see how it works.

I'll be removing the spare and putting it in the garage as we have done with TIG and havinghe lower floor option as I like to at least have he option of a spare if require one.

Other things I'll do is retro fit a type III OEM car kit and the OEM nav unit, front flaps and sun blinds in the rear for the little one, also quite fancy doing a piano lacquer black trim forthe dash?

My initial impressions of the yeti are all good, the TIG dash isn't as good overall, the ride on 19" wheels is not nice, some of the spec is impossible to get on the TIG such as memory seats, infact the only things I think I prefare on the TIG are the brushed alloy door handles etc vs the chrome on the yeti and the writing on the switches for climate etc is a little "clunky" vs the TIG.

That's about it, the 7 speed DSG isn't all that either.....

Retro fit a car kit?! Why? Elegance spec has standard Bluetooth kit that works brilliantly.

I want RSAP for my old skool nokia that I believe it doesn't have, just a case of changing the control module and fitting an antenna :-)

Yikes. All of that instead of just upgrading your phone?!?!!

Nope, I've got an iPhone 4s for mails and net and a Nokia 8800 arte for phone calls and texts, on the move, the RSAP is far superior to normal Bluetooth in both sound and signal quality and allows you to send and recieve texts via the touchscreen / mfd and will also read out text messages to save you having to read them on the go.

I have a little bit of OCD btw.....

Ok fair enough. As long as you're happy!

You can't get a factory fitted toward or double sun visors in the uk :-(

Indeed, I'll post a "how to" this time next year and I'll also post some pics later on showing the differences between the RSAP and non RSAP versions
