At last !!!

theres been a buzzing kind of rattle in the rear passenger side of the car for a while when the subs cranked up and at first i thought it was the speaker in the rear quarter panel making the noise.

problem is when your in the area of the buzzing it stops so its hard to pin point where it is.

anyway last night i had a brain wave... after selecting a suitably bassy track i jumped out of the car and listened from the outside to see if i could hear anything. sure enough when the bass increased the rear quarter panel vibrated from the inside like a good'un. when i opened the rear door and popped my hand lightly over the area i could feel things vibrating nicely.

when a slight amount of pressure is aplied the noises stop so...

do i try and strip the plastics off the rear quarter to make sure everythings seated and secured properly or do i moan about it on thursday when i take the car into the dealers for its service ?

I have exactly this problem too!!

It's a pain in the ***!

When I have a spare weekend i think i'll be doing it myself with mountains of sound proofing material!

When you run 4 subs you soon find the loose bits of trim!!

mmmmm im experencing vibration problems as well...i disconnected my rear speakers that help alot...i belive it to be in my case the rear plastic trim where the rear speakers are mounted espcially the drivers side as the sub fires towards that side...then conbine that with a speaker going for under there too turns in to a big rattle mess!!

stnage thing is seems worse going along then it does standing still that makes even more hard to pin point

my sub fires straight at the boot lid (facing backwards) so it fills the boot with noise and makes things really hard to find.

when i first upgraded the speakers in the rear quarters i found they vibrated the trim there really badly, a few spacers and a bit of fiddling sorted it but now the subs added more bass the trim cant seem to handle things.

i think i'll do it myself and pack things out to make a tighter fit.

Yus, I had a similar problem when i converted two garden sheds in to speakers. I eventually overcame it by using lots of sellotape. :D
