FL rear parking sensors

Featured Replies

Folks I want to retrofit rear PDC to my pre FL mk2 and would like the flush sensors as found in the FL car. Are these sold as a kit or can anybody recommend me a flush fitting sensor kit? I don't want the larger non-OE style PDC kits available for retrofit so I realise I am making work for myself.

They look interesting, any more info (cost really)?

why don't you retrofit OEM sensors ?? there are sites selling retrofit kits and you will get them pre-painted to match your color.

I just retro-fitted front parking sensors ... & say what you want you cannot beat OEM. !emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I would if I could find the kits. In my first post I said I wanted to fit an OE FL kit (although I wasn't very clear on this admittedly!) but I have no idea, other than Skoda, where to find them.

Right, think I am getting somewhere. I discovered from your posts pz1811 that the place to look is skodateile - I am assuming that I would need the kit comprising of the speaker, ECU and wiring loom and the separate kit comprising of just the sensors (and loom of course) which works out to about £137 at the moment. I guess it would cost me about 30 quid to get them painted and then I have to fit them. Will these work with the graphic display on a Stream MPW headunit and continue to work with an RCD510DAB should I actually attempt to source and fit one?

You just ask skodateile for the color and he will have them for you, so no paying extra for the paint.

Also I would highly recommend him, but a word of caution be really very very very careful when drilling the holes, chances are you will have the markings at the back of the bumper as to where the sensors go.

You'll have to ask skodateile for the stream display ! not quite sure about that.. but will work with the RCD510.

Oh ok, I thought they came black and needed paint.

Are they plugged into the loom somewhere (being OE) or do you have to tap then into a reverse light? Is any coding needed?

Ya you will have to connect them into the CAN gateway (near the drivers knee)

The sensors come with a self adhesive tape and are directly stuck onto the bumper. Coding not very sure, the parking module will be pre-coded, but you might have to select it in the 19-Can gateway.

Skodateile will give you a wiring diagram if you want one.

Update to this, I got such a good price on the latest Cobra kit supplied AND fitted that I've decided to go down that route now. The price for the genuine kits from Skodateile is very good but I am not confident with the fitting and the wiring and expect the extra cost will be well in excess of my budget.

Could I ask what the fitted price is and is it for the A0358 kit? And painted?

Works out at £210 inc VAT for the 358 kit, supplied, painted and fitted.

The Skoda kit from Skodateile is about £140, I guess plus shipping but there's a cost involved in having them fitted (but presumably not painted) which might not be that cheap given they have to get wired up through the car (I assume) to the CAN gateway. I don't feel confident enough to drop the bumper myself on this car.

That's a good price - and beats what I have been quoted.

My Cobra kit went in today, first impression is quite good. I did think about reversing just for the hell of it, but I'll go out properly tomorrow.

Looks like a proper flush fitting OEM kit too.

I'm assuming that with the Cobra kit it would NOT integrate into the display on an RNS510?

I have the Columbus and had rear parking sensors fitted at the factory - so I obviously get the display on the screen as I reverse.

I would have to add OEM front sensors for them to be integrated into the same display?

That's right yes. I got the impression that it was going to be very expensive to do the job with OEM kit and the radio display wasn't really a priority for me, especially for what I paid.
