Octy vRS Replacement

Featured Replies

I am starting to think I am not really getting much use out of the my Octy vRS, i'bve drive 13000 miles in 1 1/2 years (that was when I used to commute more). I'm getting married in August and my missus already has a car, I am now thinking it's probably worthwhile getting rid of it. I spend a fortune on insurance

I like the Furby, but the only thing that puts me off it is the 5 door thing. I would prefer to have 3 doors.

I am wondering  I am leaning more towards the Polo GTI. But I will need to do more homework on them.

:nono: if you're leaning VAG then go Lupo !

Seriously.... really seriously. If you want Polo size then I would stray from THE MARK :)

Whats up with the polo??? I like the Lupo but I could not imagine doing distance in one.

Wagon Type R import, some mental ones and only room for 2 adults, purfic...actually more room and quite a practical vehicle, just avoid the moose test IMHO.

Lupo GTi is a god one for Welsh B's ;)

Followed one in the 4x4 and it never got away from me, but some moments the old ESP saved me, big car little roads doth not make for a good feeling.

Yaris would get my vote.

With the Technomagnesio Detroit look a likey wheels the VVTI looks quite sharp, nver go wrong and are really nice to drive. Funky instrument binicle aswell.

The Lupo GTI has a cult following, mainly due to it's excellent handling. I would go for one of these if I could fit a wheel chair in't back...

we have had 2 polo GTi's infact still have one in the family. ask away if you want any info

I was following a Lupo GTI on a spirited drive where I live, and I have to say I was surprised how much body roll it seemed to have, for a car with such a handling reputation.

I do like the Lupo and the Polo GTI. From what i've been reading about the faults with the Polo GTI I am a bit wary

it that a reputation for good handling amongst people that drive the previous shape golfs etc??

:P

OK I was making it up abou the handling, but they still have a cult(sic) following.....

the only real problem we have had with the two polo GTis was the BBS wheels, they got replaced under warranty. we have owned one for 3 years and the othe for about 1-2 years

I heard they had numerous problems with the clutch cable and the pedal box. I also heard numerous problems with electric windows. I do think the Polo GTI is a good looking motor and would suit me it's just I don't want to be shelling out left right and centre for bits and repairs.

yeah understand mate, i can only say from expericance of the two we have had and still have one.

we havent had any problem with the things you have mention tbh

My mother has the polo 1.4 16v which I thought was great fun, quite nippy, looks nice(nice wheels and seats) nice interior and cheap to run.Think this was the model one down from the gti?

Never had any problems and it is a year 2000 (x reg) .Granted she has only done about 4k in it
