thanks tom....i was going to do that as part of the service, not touched the car at all over the last year,it has not done it since i mentioned it on here...might be the nut behind the wheel

is there anything else i should change apart from oil + filter, air filter, plugs it had full skoda service history upto the end of last year when i bought it,unusual for a 11 year old car,iam using it tommrow and then its in the garage untill 3 jan next year so plenty of tinkering time

Hi, I've had a similar problem with my fun but more so when driving and noticeable under load. I changed the plugs/ht leads and as Tom suggested targeted the air intake and throttle body. Once I'd done this I unhooked the ECU for a couple of hours to realign. Touch wood it seems to have done the trick and I've had no recent problems (that's probably the kiss of death!). Good luck, all the best, Rob.

update....serviced the pick up yesterday...new oil +filter, air filter, fuel filter (80,000 miles)and spark plugs,no problems except not much room to get to the fuel filter, had a look at the throttle body and it looked clean there was what looked like light oil laying in the bottom just a small amount,is this normal ?...pick up did struggle to pass the emission test last year but it never uses any oil and is running well and 38.8mpg last month urban, mot due 3 march so will book it in for first week in feb.........had a good look around whilst i was doing the fuel filter and all looks good
