hi folks

my speedo and fuel guage not working - read all the post here and spent £50 on a sensor at gearbox. still not working.

checked the loom all appears to be ok. i can get hold of working cluster but is it as simple as changing them over or do i have to have them reprogrammed for the keys etc? some of the posts i have read are making my knees weak!!

my fabia is a 2000 sdi - cracking little car till now. i dont want to spend 100s when the car is worth so little.

any help will be appreciated.

You will need to have the ECU reset if fitting new clocks. The car won't start unless this is done.

Thanks for that - is it involved as some of the posts state? more importantly would i need pin numbers etc as the posts state? and finally how much??

I had this problem with my SDi, Have you checked the whole engine loom? Mine had a problem where the wire had been frayed away inside the plastic cover.

The bit in question was to the right on the engine block. It was a black wire that had frayed all the way through.
