Just Bought a Black Magic VRS with few problems,

Heater only works on fan speed 4??

Anyone have any ideas of what these are? few more little problems but hopefully they are simple fix!

Whats best way to get spare keys? where is the paint code( or what is it)?

Thanks Conor

my passenger side window has a mind of its own mostly on cold morning after bien run for a while sorts its self out im gna change the switch soon and see how that goes good luck with the vrs :) magic black is the best coulour

Welcome Connr!

http://briskoda.net/...speed-resistor/ <- Fan

Paint code should be on a sticker in the boot, somewhere in the tyre well section.

Keys - I got the blank off eBay, (not bothering with remote for the space) for a few quid, a chip from here, and coding can be done with VCDS if you have the key code (4 digits, I think). If not, then you can get it from VW Skoda (force of habit!) (££), or someone with VAGTACHO can retrieve it, then VCDS can code it.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to this forum

For info although the forum software is pretty good the search facility is pretty poor. Here Google is your friend. Type in < black magic paint code > and you're immediately shown several possible threads, hence:

There's only one Black Magic (unlike yellows for instance) - it's 9910

Hi

Paint code can also be found in service schedule book if u have it.

If you put your Ignition key in the Drivers door lock and turn and hold clockwise the front windows should go down, if you then turn and hold the key anti-clockwise the windows should go up.

This sometimes resets the windows.

You may have to put the key into the Ignition and Ilumminate the dash lights first. remove key then try it.

This is very handy if you have got out of the car and left a window open or on a very hot day you can open them without getting into the car.

Oh.......and welcome

Or is it Race Blue?

Black Magic WAS the best colour - until 2007 - when it got superseded by Race Blue... :smirk: Took me three years to catch up!

I think this calls for a 'Favourite colour poll' LOL!

I'd rather have a Red Fabia than a black one but they do fade quite easily. Red also only looks better once everything necessary is colour coded.

Or is it Race Blue?

. Yes magic black is the best Coulour as I voted it agreed your car looks better but on a blank canvass magic blacks better sorry

Keeping hold of the window switch once the window has gone all the way up resets them. Let the window go up, keep hold for 5 seconds and you'll hear a click.

For the heater, I suspect the resistor pack has failed and will require replacement.

Window is teh plastic clip taht holds the window inline and takes it up and down, so easy fix...

Another Problem on a 100mile trip, was that 65miles in it made a pop, you heard loads of air and it poured black smoke out...and no boast at all?? hopefully just a pipe but cant see anything obvious?

Yes the pop will have been the boost pipe coming off and its quiet a common problem on the vRS.

The pipes are good at blowing apart. I don't know the route they take on the Fabia, as I've got a front mount on my Golf (same engine, just bigger turbo and FMIC), but it's common for them to go on the (lower?) connection to the intercooler.

It's on the left of the engine as you face the car if it helps.

Turbo pipe has popped off, probably the one in the bottom of the intercooler.

.. and you need to drop the undertray to get to it and sort it out. I reinforced the connection with a hoseclip.
