drivers seatbelt socket

Featured Replies

I need to replace the seatbelt socket on the drivers side of my 02 plate Skoda. Although it works I need to hold the button down to get the seatbelt in and the detect sensor doesn't work properly. The MOT is in a couple of days and I got an advisory for it last year.

The local scrappy has only got a W reg Octavia in, does anyone happen to know if its the same part?

I would imagine they are as I have previously changed seats from other VAG marques (both VW and Audi) into Skoda's and they have all been the same.

You will need a splined socket though as its not a tork type socket, more splines than that. I did this a few years ago as i had to push the button down on the seatbelt gadget to engage the seatbelt buckle which was an MOT fail, took seat out found that neither tork or allen key sockets would undo the bolt holding the stalk in position and so put it back in and had the garage fit it prior to the MOT.

I've found it's £42 for a new one, so that is ordered. Scrappy had, but only for older models and I know that some of them didn't have the sensor in them.

I wasn't aware that you needed to use a spline, tripe square drive, looking at it it would seem that it's a either bolt on the inner side, or possibly a Allan or Torx on the outer side (against the tunnel).

My mk1 had that fault it started working again after some fast clicking of the button and rattling of the belt when it was plugged in you mite want to try some wd40 aswell. I looked into changing the stalk the seat has to come out.

Shouldn't worry about the sensor. If it's not plugged in, the alarm doesn't go off, and the light won't show either.
