Featured Replies

well ive spent a while now looking at induction kits so i decided on one went to my local motor factors and they said i was as well to have a panel filter if i didnt mind loseing the induction noise wot do ee think ????

I cant understand what youre on about. Panel filter is a better option than an induction kit though.

thats what i wanted to hear buddy

mine has an induction but is mapped to it. you get the slight noise of dumping too which i like. Panels are good for a bit of performance and standard engine bay looks.

All personal choice

All personal choiceim trying to keep it simple and effective new sillicone hoses etc but dont want it to go to far from stock now after a chat with a very honest chap and he saved me 200 notes

that is all i am going to do as my panel filter is in need of a change anyways but i will just stick a pipercross one in as its abit cheaper and awesome gti supply them dry so shouldnt cause problems with the maf

i think when they make a engine they know best all i want to do is improve all the little things

STD paper works fine.

over 3 services the k&n will pay for its self and just maybe i may get 1 bhp :giggle:

K&N caused a horrible induction drone on my car, coupled with the fact that when held up to the light you could see pin pricks of light shining through meant that I sold it on after a couple of thousand miles.

Got a Pipercross now, much better but if I'm completely honest doesn't offer anything over a paper filter and means I have to clean the thing at service time rather than just bin it and replace.

And less effective filtration!

Probably... but I'm a hundred times more confident in it than I was in the K&N :o

its all choice. i was lucky and mine came with a carbonio intake. i get no drone from it at all but i do get the dump noise coming back out of it (which i like) They are meant to give good gains too if mapped.

If you want a standard engine that looks stock id either just get the standard filter (cheap) and replace each year or get something like a green cotton panel filter. bit more induction noise and maybe a slight gain. Using these on other cars has always given me the power lower down.
