Wheel fitment 8x19" ET35 225/40/19

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if wheels with a fitment 8x19" ET35 and tyres 225/40/19 will fit on a Mk1 Octavia VRS estate? and will they still fit if it is lowered 20mm?

I am looking for an estate but so far have only seen ones with 18" on and there is no info as to whether they have been lowered or not.

If any of you have experience of 19"s on a Mk1 estate please let me know your findings

Many thanks

Lee

I had 8x20s with 225/30/20 tyres down but on coilies with no issues

Ive got what works out et30 8x19s now with 215/35/19s ... Pretty much wound down :smirk: again no issues unkess i try hard or am being a fool

Went 215s due to offset, i cant see any issues with 225s...... That said i dunno if estates vary

Iirc rob had to go 215 on 18s on the rear ????

215/35s will sort u if needs be mate

sounds like i might be best sticking to 18"s as i am going on an estate and lowering 20mm and ideally would like to retain some ride quality. i think i might do the 215/35 thing or if i can get away with it 215/40s

the roads (in particular the A9 - north scotland) are battered with pot holes and havid hit some today - it made me wince. i would not want to be hitting then with brand new alloys and a no profile tyre - could be v. expensive and upsetting. looking for some compromise really

thanks for your advice.

next thing is where to source a good 55 plate low mileage vrs estate.........

regards

Lee.

Have you peeked on auto trader mate?

Tbh i didnt find the 20s that harsh  i did have a mk2 golf before slaaaamned so :smirk:

If u run the same prob as rob even 225 on 18s rubbed?

He is the only one that jumps to mind ????

215/35 are about right-ish iirc on the calculator jimmy thing

I found i was very aware of the roads with the 20s :o i was like a hawk , i could spot a pothole very well :wonder:

And with 215/35s on the BBS's i can sense im sure :D

18s would still look cool.... 19s would look great

20s....... Are just bonkers :p they did amuse me, but i am a fan of big wheels ;)

Your greatedt buddy with bigger wheels ...... Coilovers mate :giggle:

Scuff.... Raise

No scuff .... Drop

Little rub .... Perfick

i know what you mean about the big wheels, they look great but i am limited as the car has to be a daily driver on poor roads and in poor weather. might see if there are ant nice octy vrs estates out there for sale for sensible money and then look to buy and get a good set of wheels.

thanks for the info - you have given me a good insight into what works and what fits.

cheers

Lee
