Anyone tried a Forge Optimus DV yet?

Featured Replies

If so, do you have any opinions on it? Is it worth changing from my DV007P?

GaryM has just got one but hasn't tried it yet. I think he'll be do some testing soon and posting his findings.

Thanks for that, i'll keep an eye out then. It does look a quality piece of kit.

Forge told me that they sold the initial production run almost straight away.

Mine is locked up in the wifes place of work as she forgot to bring it home!!

I'll fit it Tuesday night and let you know.

Cheers Gary, i'm hoping its rubbish so i dont have to buy one ;) but i doubt it will be.

If its louder than the 007 I'll be getting one :D

Edited - My mistake confused the Optimus with the Type RS Doh :thumbdwn:

Doesnt look like a trumpet DV to me, looks like a re circ type.

And why have they gone back from a piston to a diaphragm like the stock DV, does it work faster? Less problems with sticking I guess also.

Being a diaphragm valve I think it will be quieter than a piston DV, looks a good valve though, the adjustable spring pressure is nice.

The type RS looks great too, but they are a lot of cash, i would want to see some gains in response to spend that much. I think we need a good review of both :)

I have the DV-R forge dv with interchangable springs and i have to say its a very nice bit of kit ,so i would imagine that the optimus is the same deal.

Is the Bailey dv30 a diaphram one or piston?
