New VRS owner Wirral

Featured Replies

Hi People, I have recently bought a 2001 Black VRS 93000 miles and very very tidy with full & comprehensive history, all Mots tax discs etc etc. The car appears to be standard looking with the exception of a mesh front grill and slight roof spoiler, that slight I didn't even notice it and stubby aerial. Its got a K&N Panel filter and been chipped I believe, I was told its been on the rolling road and was reported at 213bhp looking around that would seem to be correct. I was going to run it on Super unleaded I know its a bit more but I heard its worth it apart from that all standard.

I believe my car has the following factory options:

Climate control

Cruise Control

Xenon headlights

Esp (although I am not sure if that was standard)

Rear parking sensors

Heated front seats

Its a true credit to its 2 previous owners.

I would consider upgrading the brakes to drilled and grooved, I have seen some on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300387730195?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1907wt_905 but I am not sure if they are any good? any thoughts?

The only other thing and I have no idea if its viable but to me the car is screaming out for a 6th gear? has this or can this be done?

I would like to add front fogs/spots but understand there is a airflow to the turbo charger in this section but came across these http://www.superskoda.com/octavia-i/sportgrills/skoda-octavia-00-07-facelift-3pc-grill-v2-with-hella-fog-light-for-oem-bumper-milotec Again any ideas or thoughts?

I am in no way technical so any jobs carried out will be done by a qualified person!!! Is there any other little mods that you guys could suggest?

Thanks guys I look forward to chatting in the future!!

Welcome along to Briskoda :) The octavia sounds nice, you'll find a load more info in the octavia section on the forum :)

TBH plain disks and something like Mintex or DS2500s are supposed to be better with proper fluid.

Im not sure how the fogs would look, personally I wouldnt bother as theres no real space for them as youve found out.

Ok just go for new OEM disks and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Also Golf R32 Front anti roll bar and Neuspeed 28 mm rear anti roll bar. Probably about £500 but will transform the car. Sounds like a beauty get some pics up.

Avoid drilled / grooved discs they tend to crack, major work to fit a 6spd box and little point in doing it.

Front fogs are standard on all vRS's.

Well they are xenon, and thinking about it I believe they are as I cant see a bulb in the unit.

Remember you cant legally make a car appear newer, so I could not put a newer style current plate on the car say 52-61. You can however play with the older ones until your hearts content. That`s way I went for VRS as I can use the two main numbers to replicate the newer style plate tut tut lol :o

yh the projectors next to the indicators are fogs i beleive

haha well i found 2 in that case then TO51 VRS (tosi vrs i think its quite funny) and AL51 VRS (als 1 Vrs) B)
