Cleaning clogged intake

Featured Replies

Anyone ever cleaned an intake manifold of an ASZ engine?

A lot of pictures can be found on the internet about clogged intakes, but never from an ASZ engine.

Is this problem something not related to an ASZ?

My car has done 80k and egr is closed since the last 10k. Could the intake manifold be clogged?

I cleaned one previously and it was pretty gunked up (car had done 100k). Once cleaned and EGR removed, it remained spotless until I took it off after 182k!

Would it be possible to just take of the intake manifold?

Had a quick look, but seems to me that the exhaust manifold needs removing as well.

Exhaust manifold does not need to come off.

Take off the alloy intake pipe that runs from Airflow meter into turbo for improved access.
