S3 Strut Brace

Featured Replies

Want to get one any one know prices of the upper and lower? and the bolts and captive nuts?

the lower cost about £35 and should come with rivet nuts and bolts to fit it,not sure about the top brace,:)

Top brace is only for show tbh. But if you want one ebay is best. LINK

You will however notice the difference once the bottom brace is fitted!

great i take its nice and simple for bottom as hoes are already there? i have coilovers and rarb so should be icing on cake

Don't bother buying S3 bottom brace just get the captive nuts and the bolts then go and buy a length of 20mm x 3mm thick steel from B&Q and cut it down and drill a hole at either end of it to put bolts through, oh and give it a lick of paint aswell

Make sure you copper grease the bolts and captive nuts in the bottom brace, as they can be a sod to remove if they have been in for a while.

I ended up having to cut mine out and re-weld them when I had to replace the turbo.

I got my bottom brace, bolts and captive nuts from tps (trade parts specialists) bolts and nuts are separate to the brace. Borrowed the s3 top one off a crash damaged s3 when I worked on salvage :giggle:

The Upper S3 brace you can get in TPS as well if you can't find on Ebay. You have to drill 3 holes on each strut turret to fit the upper brace. Then you can fit bolts/nuts. You will need to raise the car to fit nuts onto the bolts.

You could also fit the lower brace captive nuts to the upper turrets if you get the hole dimension right. That way it is easier to remove should you need to.

Does anyone have a photo or simple explaination as to where and how the lower strut brace would fit.

Thanks

Tom
