Try this.

Open the door handle (outside car), hold open and you should see a clip attached to the handle that can be adjusted towards you or towards the car.

Get a small flat head screw driver and unprise the clip and push it a few notches 'towards' the car.

It's important that you adjust it towards the car and not pull it towards you.

If that's your problem, the door should then open.

This is interesting, what does it do exactly?

As mine plays up since having them sprayed. The rear offside door takes a consistent two pulls before the catch releases and it opens.

Could this solve my issue also?

Don't know how exactly how it works but it works, but the clip is attached to a cable that is attached to all the mechanism's that open the door.

All 4 doors needed a couple of tugs when I first bought my car, now they all work perfect.

If your doors have had paint I would suspect that the clip wasn't put back in it's original slot.

Also, does your handle spring back?

I bet they haven't clipped the handle back into the spring back mechanism.

Does the inside lever work? Mine does.

mine as well, but I need to pull very hard

Deffo that clip then.

Il test it out see how I get on.

The handle springs back yes, although it may have stuck on a few occasions, my memory is vague. My passenger side has definitely stuck before, but is usually fine so perhaps irrelevant.
