As the obviously dodgy link is still in previous posts and hasn't been removed/edited by a mod, is that a green light to discuss/post torrent links?!

As I can't see what the difference is. They are both illegal copies, yet one of them is allowed to be posted it seems......

To all users: Do not purchase from that link.

£80 is a rip off. In Romania they sell it for £15 :))

Could I get one of that PM's please (whatever that is :) )?

I had a response from the supplier linked to earlier in this thread, which I am surprised and pleased by. However, it seems to clarify the matter without actually answering the question.

This is their entire email, unedited or changed in any way (except removing all their address details after their signature):

Hi Karl

Thankyou for your email, firstly i would like to state that we do not wish to cause controversy, all we are trying to do is help customers save money and make alittle at the sametime. We have sold alot of discs over the years with no real problems, i do not wish to incriminate my suppliers, but if you wish to buy a retail/original version of the disc then you would need to purchase them from the main dealer, i would be surprised if anyone could do an original boxed and new for 79gbp! Our discs come as pictured, i hope this clears up any questions!

We do have great deals on bluetooth kits and columbus units, as a forum we offer a 10% discount off retail to all your customers!

Regards

Team UV

I think it answers your question very clearly

It is not original, therefore it is a copy ... as has been suggested all along.

Exactly. There is no doubt that they are ripoff copies.

I like the way they say they are trying to help people by charging eighty quid for something you can get for free!

Yup - so basically the following:

If you do care about software licensing and feel you should pay for what you use, do not buy from this place.

If you really don't care about such things then again, don't pay them £80 for a disk that cost them literally nothing!

They are making £79 profit on each illegally pirated copy of the software they sell.

I'm also going to drop somebody else a line about this practice.....so much for "legitimate, VAT registered companies".

Now, since mannyo recommended them and defended them, he should send trading standards to their office and raid them and be ordered to charge 10 quid for dvd+pp and not 80.

I did not recommend them, indeed i have never used them. I did a simple google search and posted the link here, they seemed reputable and that fact they have a shop / showroom etc. I now stand corrected, however I am surprised that trading standards or FAST have not raided their premises. I'll remove the link now.
