fabia vrs v ford foucs st

Featured Replies

Hi, if i tuned my fabia vrs to 240bhp and nearly 400 ft torque would it keep up with a focus st tuned to 300bhp in mid gear pull and off the line?

or would it be better to get a octavia vrs and tune it to a bit over 300bhp. what mods do u need to get mk2 octavia vrs to 300bhp?

thanks

Sorry for pointing out the obvious here.... Why not just get an Ford Focus ST?

I'd expect the Focus to handle better than the Fabia at least. Not sure about the Octavia though.

Off the line I'd expect the Focus to win, due to gearing if nothing else.

the reason i asked is because my mate has got a st and i got a fabia vrs and i wanted to get some more power out of mine to keep up.

A stage 1 Octavia vRS TSI is quicker than a std Focus ST. :)

assuming both cars were being driven appropriately, I'm not convinced a PD130 with a hybrid turbo would keep up with a 300bhp Focus ST

Better off getting a octavia so it would cost about 4k to get the fabia up to about 240bhp and how much would it cost to get a octavia up to 300bhp or more?

If its purely about speed, get something tiny, light & with a massive engine that's cheap. Or get a AX With a large turbo engine. Sorted.

I don't buy my cars purely on speed though.

A 240bhp fabia would at least be as quick IMO as the focus st, considering a 270bhp fabia beat a focus RS by five car lengths in a quarter mile id say they would be very similar at least

240bhp might have the same mid range power as a st tuned to nearly 300bhp. how much would it cost to get the fabia up to 240bhp and how much to 270bhp?

thats crazy to think a fabia with 270bhp beat a focus rs.

You Fabia will not keep up, straight line or bends.

The ST is in a different league, completely!

240bhp plays 225bhp...

Fixed that for you :D

Are you for real?! You want to spend in the region of 4k on a fabia just so you can keep up with a mate in a focus!!! Personally id rather accept your car for what it is and accept your mates focus 2.5 petrol turbo is quicker! Straight lines and bends!

I bet your mate doesn't get up to 60mpg out of his! lol.

How did i know you were going too say that. You up the fabia, he'll up the ST, where does it all end !!

Bends maybe but straight line easily keep up if not faster

Neither will the OP trying to keep up with an ST :giggle:

im assuming you mean would it keep up, on a private road or track not on her majesties highways of course

Bends maybe but straight line easily keep up if not faster

And this is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, where we have bends.

But no, the ST, as I said... completely different league. It's more a man vs. boy thing :)

If you want to surprise your mate buy a battered up old corsa or similar and bang a massive turbo engine in or something similar! I'd give up on getting a fab to beat an st, unless you've got deep pockets and if you did I'd by a better car than a fab for the job :p

Yeah, Corsa B/C 1.2 with a C20LET engine, plug and play :D

I'm sure you could keep up if you add a LCR Splitter and a pine tree air freshner to the Fabia.

Doesn't laying the rear seats down reduce drag too? emoticon-0105-wink.gif (Sure there was a thread by those lines somewhere!)

just buy this
