Still i know of several people on here who have paid mechanics who have damaged their cars!!!

yh its hard to get a trusted one, mind you if a mechanic wrecks my car i expect some kind of compensation or it to be fixed

Sounds a complete toss pot to me. How on this earth can you sleep at night knowing you've only replaced 1 out of the 3 bolts on a major stress point on the suspension, never mind leaving the caliper bolts loose. Jesus!

I dont fully trust ANYONE to work on my cars. If there's a problem i sort it myself, however if i cant then i drive 25 miles to a vag specialist in lincoln to get anything else sorted. Top bloke, doesnt bullcrap and does the jobs properly.

The next person might not be so lucky!!

He didn't even come round in the end - says he got a puncture on his van last night and didn't trust the spare tyre!

Fortunately I hadn't paid him yet - and of course won't be in the future either.

The guys at F1 Autocentre had a look over the suspension this morning after they sorted out the ball joint. They were really helpful actually and even found me a replacement bolt for the brake caliper when I went back there after lunch.

Probably didn't come around as he had a flat and couldnt trust himself to change the wheel.

What a crap mechanic he is then!!!!!!
