ABT Fabia 1.4

Featured Replies

Hi all this is my little pet project only been going for about 6 months so lots still to do.

it all started in jan 2011 when my pervious car a mk2 106 was nearing the end of its natural life,(thank God, i hated that car with a passion)

so i was looking for something faster and with some mod cons, as my dad had just upgraded his car.

so i chose this, a mk1 fabia, a 11 year old car with only 60,000 miles on the clock, and full skoda service history.

the first thing i did was get it checked over,

IMG_0597.jpg

it looked like the breaks were f**ked so they needed replacing

IMG_0529.jpg

after

IMG_0550.jpg

much better.

now some visual tweaks, i saw on the net a VRS with a black roof and thought about carbon so i got it wrapped along with the grill

IMG_0040.jpg

IMG_0039.jpg

now some alloys i chose some black audi S3 alloys

IMG_0596.jpg

IMG_0598.jpg

which with the roof works well. :-)

now i needed a better stereo, I thought about pioneer as i had some things in the past, so went on the bay and found this alpine system

IMG_0041.jpg

fitted that with new door speakers and a sub,

and the most recent mod is some DRL'sÂ

IMG_0030.jpg

so it went from this

IMG_0005.jpg

to this

IMG_0039.jpg

still to come are all the big mods, like coil overs, induction kit, remap and some other performance mods

A big improvement- love those s3 alloys- are they 16's or 17's? Would a remap even make a difference on a 1.4 petrol with no turbo?

Would look cracker with a vrs body kit

It just needs lowering and a face lift front or vrs front bumper

The alloys are 17"

And thanks for the eBay link

Very nice car. Just wondering where you got the DRLs from? I bought some to fit onto my vRS but they are fairly small and not bright enough for my liking. Yours look pretty swish.

Looks nifty, if you fancy a bodykit have a look on eBay or call Autosales in Cannock. I got this whole kit on eBay for sub £100 and they had another four of them.

Got the front on mine already but figured its always good to have a spare.

Don't have to have a vRS to look cool. :)

was thinking about the bumper skirts, how easy were they to fit and spray??

Depends on how good your bodyshop skills are?

Not fitted mine yet.

so what do you get in the kit?

any rear pics?

It would surprise me if that helps! All its doing is sucking in hot air!

where did u get the blue leads from can't find them anywhere and any ideas on how to clean up the engine bay as mines a little grubby

Blueleads are magnecor ht leads, available from awesome gti!

Some all purpose cleaner is good for the bay, autosmart g101 is good stuff, then cover up electrical items such as batt and alternator then rinse off

Then some plastic / vinyl treatment to bring the blacks back to black

I also sprayed my rocker cover in situe with some careful masking up!

Exhaust heat sheild can be removed and sprayed :)

So got my induction kit fitted today massive improvement

That would defo reduce the quoted top end BHP when the engine bay gets hot......BUT would make it more responsive when cold

This is a pic of mine with the CIA kit that I built myself based around Green cotton components.........need to get a newer pic up as I now have the top end red magncor leads fitted

Managed to find the old invoices in the loft as this was done in 2006!!!......

Used the folllowing parts:

Green Cotton "twister" filter in alloy 75mm Internal diameter outlets code no. GRETW75A

E-Tech alloy cold air funnel 76mm dia code no. ECAF-76S

E-Tech Universal alloy 90 deg bend 75mm dia code no. AP90-75

Blue reducer 80mm to 65mm I think can't find the code

76mm Revotech black flexi-hose code GLo076BLK

Following items from Pirtek hoses:

72-80mm EPDM lined pipe clamps code PCL-072

oil delivery hose code 100R6-08

There are other bits and pieces like brackets that I made myself etc....but this is the info that I can easily find!

techie or whatever that green on ur kit looks absolutely terrible. Ruined it tbh

Out of interest, how did ABT get 140bhp out of your car?
