Doors unlocking themselves

Featured Replies

its been a few times now that ive gone out and found that the doors have unlocked themselves for some unknown reason?!?!

Twice the alarm has told me that theres a door open when ive locked up (but there isnt). will the system unlock if it thinks there is a door open? is there any way of finding out which one it is?

really parranoid at night now as ive just put a 400 stereo in the car :(

There's probably a microswitch gone in one of the doors and that particular door isn't locking properly, then the rest open. It's worth looking at sooner rather than later as my old VRS did the same thing for a few weeks and eventually flattened the battery while I was up in Lincolnshire, I had to get a jump start in a motorway services to get back home!

that makes sence cos my battery needs a charge now and i use the car every day.

i take its an auto eleccy job to find it? :(

Maybe try locking and unlocking with the remote and have a listen near the lock at each door to see whether it's making any noises or not.

Not sure if the CCU will log fault codes with the door locks but thats worth a try too I suppose.

Mine was one of the rear doors, only realised it was that particular door because eventually the pin wouldn't pop up when all the other doors unlocked.

Auto electrician should be able to sort it but might need to take all the door cards off to find which ones the problem.

ahhh the more we r posting the more its coming together lol. the passenger door wouldnt unlock last week, i had to pull the pin up from rear.

il have a look at it :D

Fingers crossed you can find the problem. I put a new battery in mine and was on the verge of taking it to a garage as that rear door was locked and I didn't want the trouble of trying to get the doorcard off with the door locked shut... then it somehow fixed itself after we took the car for a massive drive to Scotland and back!

Get the doorcard off while you still can I would say!
