Can maps go bad?

Featured Replies

Can remaps adjust as the ecu learns values etc?

Would they just need a refresh again say if the battery goes flat...

I think my map needs a tweak, cba driving back down to jabba tho. Anyone fancy doing it cheap in the northwest area

I doubt it tbh, can't see how a dead battery would reset it. Afterall it happens all the time and people change battery's and disconnect to charge etc. why you ask is the car driving any diff? I'm disconnect my battery yesterday and mine is still fine

Yes goes into limp mode saying negative boost deviation.

Map sensor changed, n75 box changed, intercooler and pipe work stripped and cleaned and mikalor clamps used on every joint.

Checked the actuator with a mityvac and replaced all vac lines. Car feels fine in gears 1-5 but it's 6th the problem occurs

Are you driving hard in 6th? Mine went into limp in 6th after I got mine mapped on the way home seeing what she could do at the top of sixth she went into limp mode. It's happened others too on high speed runs. Apparently it happens as boost is highest in 6th so only a small deviation in boost sends it into limp to stop it blowing itself up.

No only 70mph in 6th. Hit a hill and place foot down to maintain 70 and it goes into limp

Strange, hopefully someone more qualified will come along

I can just about stay in 6th doing 70, revs get to low and engine struggles, got to drop to 5th??

Oopsy

is this the advantage of having an earlier 'long' gearbox? bet you mpg is very good
