Aren't the majority nearly dead and oblivious to the world around them? emoticon-0105-wink.gif

What is worse is that they use their indicators on a much lower percentage of their journeys.

Ahhh Chris GB, long time since i have seen you posting, i'm not active on MR2roc at the moment, though likely to be purchasing an MR2 again in the next 2 months.

How's the mk3 Turbo going??? got it handling the way you want now??

Car is working very well. Had a handling issue after I had some work done on the car but I found the problem and fixed it. Running a slightly non standard geometry at the rear for stability under power. I see you managed to blag a Fabia vrs, should be fun.

Glad to hear the car is okay. I know we are on the wrong forum and thread but i had one or two questions about MR2 tuning for an 2005yr model

Firstly you say the BC coilovers come from factory at 40mm drop, but you changed it to 20mm height, was this done simply by winding the coilover up or did you have to modify the coilovers to achieve this.

secondly whats your thoughts and experience on something like lowering springs. not cheap ones, but say Eibach ones that offer a 25mm drop?(i would get a full geometry check after fitting on a hunter system) the car would be a daily driver and whilst it rolls a little more than i would like i wouldn't say it bothers me enough to spend £700 on BC coilovers. and how well do lowering springs work with the standard dampers

also have you polybushed any part of the car and if so how did it affect the handling?

finally, again because i have to consider cost and usage of the vehicle does the front strut brace and breastplate alone(the corkys one) reduce the shake and flex noticeably?

The mods i intend to make are corky's breastplate, mild suspension upgrade, Full manifold and exhaust system including 100cell cat, probably made to order by Zero motorsports and a piggy back ecu and remap. i would add to that list a front strut brace as they don't cost alot.

i enjoyed the car alot as it is, so a reducation a body roll, less scuttle shake and an extra 10-15bhp would satisfy me. after that i would simply stick with good service intervals and good quality oils(Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S/R ester), maybe when needed a better brake fluid too

It's Falken ZE912 or Toyo T1R tyres for me i think because cost must be considered as well as 15,000miles per annum

The BC coilovers are fully height adjustable, nothing to modify, just undo the ring that locks the height adjustment and wind the strut leg out of the hub collar, re tighten the lock ring.

The front strut brace is a matter of taste, personally, I found it beneficial. I have never had the corky breastplate but have driven cars with one fitted and it does reduce body shell flex. I run the Corky mid ship member brace which is a breastplate and floorpan brace combined. Expensive but worth every penny. Either way you will need one or the other with the coilovers. Spring rates on mine are double the stock springs and will shake an unbraced car up badly. I did not fit the polybushes. I bought them in case one of the standard bushes had degraded when I had the handling issues, but that turned out to be an incorrectly torqued bolt.

I would not consider the BC coilovers to be a mild suspension upgrade. You may want to try a ride in mine before going down that route. The manifold makes sense but not sure that a replacement cat will yield any gains. Some have even reported a loss of mid band torque when going for a high flow cat. 200 cel would be more appropriate for the MOT too. Tyres wise, most run T1R for the low cost and progressive on limit behaviour. I have run T1R and 912 on my learner cars and both seem similar in terms of grip and progression to me.

I thought indicators were optional extras, as I heard they are only an MOT failure if you actually have them & they dont work.
