Hi All,

Stumbled across this site what a find!!

Just looking for some opinions, currently in an office job and just changing back on the road where I’ll be doing 50,000-60,000 kms a year.

I have pretty much decided on a superb estate in elegance but wondering if I should go for the

140 DSG

140 4X4 DSG

170 DSG

Currently in an privately owned audi A6 tdi 140 auto, like the idea of a 4x4 in case the weather gets bad but also think a 170 would be nice  . Price not really an issue (luckily) as all are in budget and I’d be paying the low rate of BIK

Recommend colours for me too! I’m leaning toward Platin Grey, onyx interior with sunset glass, paddles and heated windscreen

Need to order this week...

Thanks in advance

Hi Repman!

I'm a newbie to this site too and am awaiting the delivery of my Superb estate in about 3 weeks .

I needed to keep price lowish so I opted for 2.0TDI 140 Green Tec (manual). Don't know if you've taken a test drive, but I took the 1.6TDI for my test drive and was impressed with power, but opted to go for just a bit more power. If you like the 4x4 option then the 140 4x4 is probably your best option (and probably has more than enough power for our roads).

Colour is very much a personal choice ..... I chose the Rosso Brunello (having had silver, grey & black cars previously) ... also think it works well with the onyx leather upholstery. Some extras I added include :

Electric boot lid

Sunset glass

Double sun visors

MDI connection

Hill hold & tyre pressure monitor

Full Alarm

Hope this helps & good luck with your purchase!

Hi Repman and welcome to the forum!

The answer of your questions is: It all depends on your own priorities! If Skoda Superb is the the only fabric and model then you´re stuck with the choices above. If you go for the Passat for an example, you may have it both ways... But now we all know on this forum that Skoda is the way to go :D and then you have to answer: How often do you really NEED the 4x4? How often do you really NEED the 170 BHP? As for me that was simple... B)

Colors are a tough one! Maybe a bluish type this once? The rest of the list (do you really NEED the paddles?) is OK by me but I'm not the one that gonna spend 50-60 kkm in it every year. You are.. :)

Good luck!

Cheers for the replys guys, had to order today so have gone for the 170 TDI dsg + some extras I didn't NEED but wanted to try out. I've been promised a 12w delivery so have a while to wait.

Sounds good! Enjoy! What color did you go for in the end? I was told I'd have a 12-14 week wait last November when I ordered & it's looking like it will arrive within the 12 weeks.

Well, now I'm like a kid at christmas, car is in the dealers but lease company wont let me have it until 1st may (boo). in fairness its exactly 12wks lead time from Skoda. Lets see how long it takes me to forget the A6!

Every time you thing about the A6, think about the extra equipment for less money you've got in the Skoda. You'll smile every time :)

And maybe, just maybe, every time an A6-driver passes superb, he thinks that "skoda-driver thinks he`s driving a premium-car".......sorry.... :giggle:

Of course he'll think that. Thats why he's driving an Audi

But audi-drivers buy what they want, we skoda-drivers buy what we can afford.....:giggle:

Won't be long to forget the A6 - I'm in one at the minute whilst the Superb is in bodyshop and I hate it!!!

Driving position is not comfortable, engine has a dead spot around 1200 rpm - I'm not enjoying it.

But audi-drivers buy what they want, we skoda-drivers buy what we can afford.....:giggle:

I had a look at the A6, 5 series, 508 and the i40, and chose the skoda. R.E Audi, I drive the superb because it's bigger than the Audi, better equipped, it actually holds its value better and isn't known as a car for c*cks :) :p

Well..picked it up this oring and have put 300km on it..had planed to see a customer far away..very rain day do not ideal but loving it so far

Things I really like

extra power of 170 (audi was 140)

DSG box, so much better than the multitronic

ease of use of all the mfd, nav, bluetooth etc.

Low road noise..thought it would be more in an estate

all the toys

Things i still need to get used to

Seats..havent got fully comfatable yet

no electronic parking brake
