Nope is fine. Its OEM so designed to fit. It sometimes needs a push to go in but thats just because my buttons above are a little pushed up by my head unit after putting parrot kit in but it works fine.

Got it from Skodaparts.com http://www.skodaparts.com/product/fabia-cup-holder-2000-2007-36716

£35 for a bit of plastic but its well worth it and a nice little OEM mod! B)

I really want to get one of these but refuse to pay £9 delivery cost from Skoda Parts. Think it's going to be a phone call to the local dealer on Monday. B)

£9 delivery from Skodaparts.com? I certainly didn't pay that! I paid about £6 at the most and that was for the cup holder, a full set of wiper blades and a couple of small bits.

Might want to double check that matey. :)

Doh!! It was from theskodashop.co.uk that had £9 postage. Skodaparts is only £3. :)

Thought so!

It was well worth the buy I must say!

I hope so, ordered one this morning and can't wait for it to arrive. :) Kind of makes me sound sad!! :D

That looks really good. Quite fancy getting one of those myself. (There is a Costa drive-thru opening soon on my route to work :p ).

What's involved in fitting it?

Must admit, theskodashop's postage costs are shocking! I was going to purchase the centre console cupholder from them last week but changed my mind when the postage was £8 for a £5 part.

I struggle to find what I want on the skodaparts website though.

Really easy to fit.

1. Pop top left button blank out

2. Pop heater control surround off

3. Undo top and bottom screws for blanking plate

4. Remove left blanking strip from radio (just pops off)

5. Push cup holder in down side of Radio and put the 2 screws back in top and bottom

6. Put heater control surround and button blank back in

Job done!

Skodaparts.com really good I find. Sometimes hard to find parts I agree but if you use the contact form they get back to you really quick with the link to the part you want. More often than not they crest new links and parts for whatever you want!

Is the heater surround easy to pop off, don't want to snap anything??

  • Author

Yeah just be gentle and apply even pressure. It will just pop off.

Thanks for that.

Just added to my list of 'must buys'

Anyone find that the cup holder will come out the dash easily enough but doesn't seem to want to clip back in? Got one of these for my fabia and it takes a good 5-6 tries to make the tiny clip get stuck, thus allowing it to sit flush with the radio etc..

Mine normally does it on second go but as I said earlier, It sometimes needs a push to go in but thats just because my buttons above are a little pushed in by my head unit after putting parrot kit in but it works fine for me really.

Bugger, just had an e-mail from Skodaparts and they've had to order it in from the Czech Republic apparently, so i've got to wait until 07/02/2012 for delivery!! Typical when i'm free for the next 2 weekends!! :D

It only takes 5 mins to fit anyway so you could do it whenever - but very annoying none the less! They have probably had a rush of people buying them now!

I know but when i get home from work, i can't be fussed to do it, no matter how quick it will be!! :D Oh well, hopefully it will get here quicker than predicted.

  • 3 weeks later...

Still waiting for my cup holder to arrive, had to be ordered from Czech apparently!! :(
