Uprated alternator for a vRS

Hi folks,

Anyone know if I can fit a beefier/higher output alternator to my vRS???

Would a 1.9 TDi alternator be any good?

Not sure what options I have got.... Any thoughts/ideas welcome!

why do you need one steve???

Why might be a better question. Do you have a larger battery or lots and lots of high current demanding goodies fitted to your car?

I have heard it that the plod vRS had a larger alternator fitted. I guess one from a TDi would be fin, assuming they were the same fitment. TDi alternators have a freewheel pulley fitted, which I don't think the petrols have (although it should not cause any problems)

When I've got lights, heated window & A/C on it is on 10v when on tickover, by 1000rpm it is up to 12v.....

When on the move it is ok, but I think it's on the way out (it is 9 and a half years old, as is the battery)......

The headlights (90w/160w) & fuel pump give the battery/alternator quite a beating!!!

Sounds more like your battery is a bit knackered to me.... 9 1/2 years is quite a long time for the battery to last!

Hi guys new to the forum so hello I have a problem with my boot when I unlock the vehicle the boot will not unlock. but when I push the middle button ie boot unlock icon the boot will unlock. I have tested the switch and it is fine has anyone else had the same problem at all.... Regards Dan.

Fanbelt squealing 2.0tdi, is tensioner spring broke?

I just put a new Alternator clutch on my2.0tdi CFFB but the new belt is squealing. The tensioner was new a year ago, but doesnt seem to have the tension needed all the time. It can feel loose, or feel ok but starts squealing . When you move the tensioner bolt, it feels like it is catching and needs pushing back into position. Is something broken? Is there an easy fix or do I just put a new tensioner in? (I know how difficult it is to do)

Hello people, I got a 2011, VRS a few days ago. Primarily for a long trip. Seems decent so far, but I want to add power, music and just get things working. I have a few issues/questions. Ok, Matrix Leds are fantastic. When driving on A or B class roads they working perfect, illuminates both sides of the road and cuts out cars at the front or oncoming traffic. I've never been flashed. When I tried to use them on motorway it's a different story. Right headlamp is illuminating as expected but left one doesn't illuminate side of the road but only gives a lot of light far at the front of the car.. Hi, I own a Skoda Superb 3 – it was manufactured in last months of 2020 and it is 2021 model year. I see that everyone on the forum started the updates from at least 0278 software version and I have (I suspect because of first facelift batch) currently 0270 software and I want to update it to 0330. My device is 3V0035816E, hardware H22 and software 0270, Poland. I’ve found a “path” to 0324 form 0278 (0278 -> 0306 -> 0308 -> 0324) downloaded software for my device version:
