Featured Replies

The book says it's for the boot release ? Mine does nowt ?

On the Elegance and Greenline II it is for turning the interior alarm sensors off. Press the button when the door is open and the interior sensors are turned off until next restart.

That's what mine does on my vRS. Manual covers it under the Alarm section.

It's a sensor to detect if car is being shoved on a low loader, detects when its level has moved

No that's an inclination sensor and as far as I know they aren't fitted to Fabias. The button is for the interior monitoring.

where's this button ? That's the one that lights up red on the bottom door drivers side

Yes and has a picture of a car on it with semi circular lines coming from it like radio waves.

Same as what's on the b post on older models.

Yes, as said above it disables the interior alarm, so when you leave the car with passengers in it the alarm doesn't keep going off.

Which you can also do by pressing the lock button twice, but you knew that already :)

according to the spec list my fabia sport is fitted with a tilt sensor

Unlike the stupid thick bimbo who parked her car outside my house (she was in the house oposite me) last night at 9pm with her dog in car........f###ing alarm keep going off every 5mins with the poor dog getting deafened!!!....... :wall: ........

i take it this is more for things like leaving a dog in the car and not setting the alarm off all the time afterall, who would want to lock passengers in their car??

Mine says it's for towing and transporting, including ferry boats. But it's a Roomster!

I left my car with my son and wife in the car and for some reason the alarm started going off.

Maybe it self locks or activates after some time?

yeah but c'mon a weeks just too long, they prolly got hungry and set it off on purpose, other halves are selfish like that :p

Oddly enough it was for about 20 minutes, but in that time the alarm went off about ten times!

They just sat in the car and ignored it.

I was in the post office and thought it was someone else's car alarm...

Apparently if you are going to lock someone in your car for more than 3 days you have to leave them a sandwich, water and a bucket, as well as this special button to press for amusement.

It's human right no. 6372, subsection 4/7/9/4/0/8 as established by those helpful non-freeloading people in Brussels.

You'd want to lock passengers in the car if you had small children in the car and wanted to pay for petrol.

I do occasionally lock my dog in the car and use that feature -I'd leave him the keys but he might drive off.

I thought pressing the lock button twice on the fob just deadlocked it? it does on most other cars, so every time I've locked my car its not had the interior sensors on?

the fabia vrs has a tilt sensor. tried to jack my car up to change the wheels and the alarm went off until i put my key in the ignition. didnt turn it though.

It deadlocks with the first press (safe mode)

Second press locks doors. It doesn't dead lock and turns off interior monitoring.

I'm guilty of this too...left my daughter for a while, came back and she was like a statue, too frightened to move, as the alarm had been activating constantly...I still feel quilty everytime she gets in the car :S

So should the interior button be pressed with the door closed or open??

Press with the keys out and the door open. You can then lock the car as normal with full deadlock but no interior sensors.

Handy for when you need to keep people in the car when you have got out - like the wife :D
