On my way home from work this afternoon, I hit a deer. Killed it outright.

Damage: offside indicator, all lower bumper grills, bonnet grille, and the arms that hold the bonnet grille. Nearside xenon headlamp lens cracked.

Bugger

I reckon the bumper has survived. The rubbing strip has popped back in. Anyone nearby got an offside indicator? Also I reckon the bonnet arm could be straightened. Thoughts?

Skinnyman, gonna need to borrow your spare grille I'm afraid!

on the animal friendly side tho ........ at least it didnt suffer  unless you gave it a good kick for the damage

I hope you put it in the boot. I know I would. Have done in the past with rabbits I've hit

Headlamps are available as just the housing and internals without the wiring, bulbs ballasts etc. Still round about £90 though.

I got offer 8 legs of venison in the pub once for £50 but I thought no that's two deer :-D

Tut tut ( shaking head ). :giggle:

Sorry about the damage but it could have been worse.

isn't there a weird law where it's illegal to collect roadkill that you killed but okay if someone else killed it?

I have heard that too.

I hit a deer in mine shortly after I bought it and it still looks worse than this mate. I have the parts just waiting till it all get painted

That is indeed correct - you can't take your own roadkill, but you can pick up you find on the road (assuming it is nice and fresh.....)

Raf has got an indicator for me, and I'm hoping to get my hands on a black grille, just leaves the lower grilles to get.

and a new number plate

I get my show plates from A1 showplates Obviously I would never consider using them on my car ;)

Daft question did your lower grills break or just popped out??

Centre grille in bits, outer ones popped out and one was mullered by passing traffic before I could salvage it.

The main thing is that you're OK

Hope the repairs aren't too dear

Well, about £50 later and I've got pretty much anything I need.

Bonnet grille and middle & offside bumper grilles were £40 from a scrapyard near York, plus £8 for a front number plate and fixings from the local motor factor.

Just need to swap the blue bonnet grille surround with the black one that Skinnyman (Andrew) has, pick up a new indicator from Raf and I'll be sorted

some of the best rabbit (and deer sadly) i have eaten was in the hills of italy and caught (for want of a better way of putting it) this way
