Fabia remote trunk opening

Featured Replies

Not to mention if you ever buy big stuff you'll have a giant spoiler because you wont be able to shut your boot partially

I think the bast way to go is the spring loaded stop bumps anyone with prices just for these as I don't really want to replace the struts as well

I also see you have fitted the silver vision indicator bulbs too :) looks nice :)

Indicator bulbs are Osram Diadem ;)

Yes, a reference of the springs would be helpful, even more as its Saturday hence time for DIY things! Come on, we must get in time to the shops before they close!

I can't give a name or specific size or strength for spring, maybe you can search Golf forum for this, there was a brand for specific colour coded springs, I give the link if I find it.

Hi, can you tell me, what stops the springs sliding up and down the arm of the tailgate fifter? Are they clipped, glued, or anything?

I just fixed the springs using common adhesive tape, chose black in colour to give a look like a part of the spring, I take more close shots ;)

Mine does pop I've just emailed a firm in Wandsworth ecs they do a kit emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Seb I've asked them a while ago through their youtube channel and unfortunately they don't have anything for the Fabia or better they haven't tested a setup for the Fabia.

I hope they got something now but I don't have high hopes as they are an American company and their products are focused only on European cars imported to the States.

This is the closest I have found to a tutorial. Unfortunately it is in German so try to translate with an online OCR program if you don't speak the language. I tried to track down those specific springs mentioned in the document but unfortunately the company couldn't ship them to me - they don't ship abroad. After that I lost interest and didn't research any further.

If someone has the time to investigate and find similar spec springs let us know - below is a good start. hope I've helped.

A member from our local Skoda Forum use this srpings since 4 years on Fabia II, no problem caused on dampers, trunk lock or hinges.

Someone like me both arms are usually full with baby, bag, market sacks etc., these springs are life saver :D

Ahh no mate! Just once a couple of years back, the missus opened the tailgate onto a wall after I had reverse parked in a bay. If the tailgate had springs on, no doubt would be a more common sight.
