SAI removal

Featured Replies

Just wondering, when removing secondary air system, a resistor is fitted to 'fool' the system into thinking it's still there. What happens if you don't bother with the resistor? do you just get an error code or does the engine run in 'limp mode'?? if it's just a fault code i'm tempted just to delete the pump and leave it at that.

Got a resistor fitted to mine throws a fault code every 4th start, i can live with thatemoticon-0148-yes.gif

You'll have the check engine light lit but it won't go into limp mode.

I removed my SAI and fitted resistors. I still get the error code and reset it every now and then when i can be bothered. It returns as stated around every 4th start :(

should not go into limp mode though  even without a resistor.

I just done mine last week including the evap canister, only have a code for the evap so far and no light so far,but its only a matter of time before I do tho.

You can get the code mapped out.

I had mine mapped out when i had car remapped last year but i already had removed SAI and N112 and N249 valves and had resistors in but it still put engine light on, but it didn't put it into limp mode or anything
