AERO WIPERS

Featured Replies

Just a quick one for those of you that have fitted the Aero wipers, arms and blades, was it worth it? has it improved visibility in the wet? Just trying to decide if its worth changing.

Thanks Andy.

UPDATE

have took plunge and bought the arms and blades, what a massive improvement especially on motorway, not one of the cheapest changes but worth it for the improved visibility.

Yes :-)

yes! i changed all 3 of mine with Bosch aeros yesterday, they work well, look better and i got all 3 for £22.

Win!

I've got Aero wipers and there much better than normal ones....

Hi I fitted the genuine aero blades and arms bought from vag parts about 3 years ago for my wifes Seat Toledo. The blades have lasted 3 years and still clear the screen great.

Last week I was debating whether to do the same for my Octy but heard good reviews about the Bosch Aerotwin so decided to try them for £22. So far i'm very impressed, and would recommend.

The OEM setup looks better aesthetically but for the price so far so good, they look abit more bulky due to the design of the clip but a definate improvement over the standard ones, and seem much

quiter on the motorway.

Hope this helps :)

Just wondered what kind of money would there be in replacing the arms also? as I wanted to this mod if funds allow. I take it that any late SEAT Leon, Golf Mk4 etc with the aero arms fitted OEM will fit?

O and what size are the front blades anyhoo 20" and 16" ?

Mk4 golf arms are a direct fit, blade lengths are identical to what is currently on the car - sure there isn't a 4inch difference in blade lengths, but I am quite happy to be wrong.

I went with the mk4 Golf arms and blades 4-5 years ago and I am still on the original blades and get a good clear windscreen. Amazing.

This is the cheapest i can get them for new:

Front Aero Wiper Blades £27.00 the pair

Wiper Arms £70.00 the pair.

what aboot Mk5 golf or is that too risky, there seems to be a bend in the second arm too which might not fit right The reason I ask is there is a set on the bay that could be worth a punt.

mk5 has different length wiper arms, iirc, and thus probably won't fit/work very well.

cheers , thought as much, ach well. I'll keep on lookin.

Wiper Arms £70.00 the pair.

Where is that from Raf_

Try your local scrap yard(s). Even if you have to shell out for the blades you could get the arms.

Or try some retro fit ones. Personally a lot of retro fit have a large "lump" where they connect to the wiper arm, which I dislike the look of.

Mk4 golf aero arms/blades here, superb, clear screen better, last longer, and look great

there's a bloke on the lupo forum that works at a vw dealership that was the posted price. Got some lupo cup holders other week from him for £15 cheaper than my local dealers.

They push water better but they don't clean better.

I can just about fit a 22" blade on the drivers side. Think the offside is 19" isnt it? Theres no room to go bigger there unless the blade was offset an inch to the drivers side. The 22" blade clears a huge amount of water.

because im slgihtly lazy, can anyone tell me the difference in golf and octy arms? if the golf are more smoother looking or something i may swap mine over

After having these pointed out to me before I quite liked the idea of them as they look neater but unless I see some cheap in a scrappy I won't be bothering lol

The mk4 aero arm has a specific attachment for attaching the wiper blade, this is much smaller than retro fit blades. I think the arms are probably identical - I shall have my original skoda arms in the roof of my garage. I guess I could place them next to the mk4 ones and take a picture.

The reason I ask is my arms have a spoiler on them so are they aero? Never had an issue with clearance

Bosch do retro fit Aero wiper blades that fit on to standard wiper arms. I always put them on my cars as they're much better than the standard blades.

bidding on a set of Mk4 Golf arms with aeros attached just now, so hopefully get for a good price. and as said before they will look better than some of the retro fit aero blades that have quite a bulky clip, but retro fits are still better than standard ones anyway. and I too have fitted them to all my cars but thought I would go the whole hog this time and get the arms also.

The spoiler is on the arm itself not the blades but my

Clips are bulky. Maybe this could be my first proper mod
