Has anyone got VAGCOM on windows 7

Featured Replies

I have a genuine ross-tech cable that works fine with windows 7.

The knock off cables can be at best patchy anyway, let alone on Windows7

That wire should work with VCDS-Lite and Windows 7. What car are you trying to work with? What are the 7&8 digits of the VIN? (The 7&8 digits are the best identifiers for me to look up details on a car I never see. ;) )

As to the wires being patchy, Gizmo is correct. The quality is all over the place.

I had bought a little hand held code reader but thought for this car i'd get VAGCOM but can't warrant spending £xxx's

If the KKL wire you linked earlier in this thread works with your car, then you would spend nothing more than what you spend on the wire. You can run VCDS-Lite in shareware mode for free.

To know if the wire is compatible to your car, I need to know the 7&8 characters of your VIN.

The little hand held device probably is a generic OBDII device that will only give you emissions systems related fault codes and not much else. If you want access to all systems, you need a VAG diagnostic tool that will pull all VAG codes in the vehicle. VCDS-Lite will do that for you.

I have genuine VCDS Working mint with windows 7
