Toyo Proxes Quickie

Featured Replies

Hi just a quick question as my memory has gone to pot since i turned 35.

I have a Fabia VRS with Octavia alloys on and im wanting some Toyo Proxes but do i want the T1-R or the 4 as they have similiar reviews on Black Circles?

Thanks in advance

The Proxes 4 aren't really at the same level as the T1-R.

You looking at 205/40/17 or 215/40/17?

That said, even the T1-R has been around for a while now. So there may be better options available from other brands.

Still a good tyre for the price though!

They are, but not quite as good a prospect as they were 3 years ago, as the competition's caught up at that price point.

Toyo should really have come out with a straight replacement for the T1-R by now.

I think Toyo have come out with a replacement for them cant think of what they are called though.

I personally think the T1-Rs are too soft compound and I run Hankooks on my Spiders. Brilliant tyres.

I just got a set of Hankook Ventus S1 Evo's. Not put them on the car yet but reviews are fantastic.

I hear more and more good reviews about hankook!

You would also be safer with the Pirelli p zero Nero than the t1-r for that price range.

the replacement is called toyo px-4 all weather tyre instead of summer i had them on mine 205/40/17

grip was execellent wet and dry. even when it snowed at christmas my car was not unuseable like when i had parada spec 2 or t1-r's.

only complaint i would have is they wasnt the quietest of tyres.

look on ebay i paid £220 for 4 brand new with free delivery

The newest performance tyre they have is the T1-Sport but it's not available in the size required here - 205/40/17 or 215/40/17

Not correct. PX-4 or Proxes 4 sits slightly lower in the range and uses a different design and compound. I tried them on my Fabia when they first came out, but didn't find they performed as well as the T1-R.
